We recently rescued a German Shepherd that is a year old that has a lot of energy. He was a canine unit dog in training so he is trained to bite on command or when threatened but the police officer that had him before us didn’t have the patience to work with him more and said that he was too energetic and coulnt be controlled and was going to have him put down. My b/f took the dog in but after watching him these past few weeks he’s calmed down considerably just by us giving him affection. He sits and lays down on command and is a great leash dog but when he is off the leash he goes into play mode and playfully bites. He is fairly large and stronger than I and I need tips on hom to get him to listen to me off of the leash. He jumps on me, pulls laundry out of my arms, pushes me out of the way to get into the house and has knocked me over twice. He thinks he’s just playing but I need to train him not to do those things. He weighs 125 lbs and I’m 115 lbs. What can I try?
