You should try the RSPCA, and if they can not directly re-home one of their dogs with you they should at least be able to give you advice on where in your area.
I am sure they allow animals to go to homes with Children.
Hi, as you are finding alot of rescues do not rehome to children under 5. However, some do so it is worth your while having a good look around at other rescues. Try this website, you may find your new friend here
