You want a dog that has demonstrated that it gets along well with cats and small dogs. But ANY breed of puppy should be fine as far as getting along with the dogs and the cat already in the home. I have a Newfoundland/Lab mix and he gets along great with my tiny MinPin - and both are rescue dogs. You want a dog that has demonstrated that it gets along well with cats and small dogs.
