rescue! there are so many dogs getting put to sleep because the humane societies and such are out of room, and the poor dogs are only there in the first place because their owners were probably irresponsible.. especially when people buy puppies thinking they’re so cute, and then leave them when they grow into dogs

i have two dogs and we rescued both of them

ps – people that buy puppies from pet stores are just encouraging mistreatment of dogs because they come from puppy mills where the dogs live in really terrible conditions

rescue.. nothing cuter than a sad puppy looking for a home.

I would likely go with a rescue dog. Puppies are great, but if they need to be trained, housebroken, etc….I don’t have the time for that kind of work right now. An adult dog who already has the basics down would be great….has to be kid friendly though.

I have one of each. I really wanted a Spaniel. She is lovely but she needed a broher or sister by teh time she was one. She is a very sociable dog so we talked to the dog warden and he had just the right sized male schnauzer cross rescue dog. They are both 6 qand 5 respectively.
Lovely dogs – same size and good friends.
I do not have any preference for thorough bred or mix up , male or female. It is all about teh personality – happy and smiling dos it fro me.
The only thing I woudl say is think of teh size of teh dog and the space it will have. Really important fro teh animal.

Beleive me you’d wanna rescue a dog or puppy! That doggy in the window is bred in a dog farm where they spend their days in a small cage that never gets emptied, gets soaked with urine and are forced to breed constantly from onwards of 7 months. This has such a huge toll on the dogs body because it is ravaged from constantly giving birth over and over and its puppies are chucked in small cages to sell to pet stores! Don’t get me wrong, some dog breeders are good, but there are bad ones. I rescued my dog from a shelter. Dogs that don’t get rescued are euthanised after only a week. a sad reality!
