its it illegal for a company to advertise itself as animal rescue?

animal rescue
george h asked:

when in actual fact its only using the rescue as a way of getting rid of old unsold animal stock?
as i feel i was duped i went into this well known pet store and had a look at there rescue section and found this sad looking pet all alone and was impressed that this company’s new rescue section but after i had given my donation for this pet i discovered that it had only been shipped over from another store as they couldnt sell it as it was too old

    Try asking Trading Standards.

pet shops will never be anything to do with animal rescue as they along with breeders cause the problems that we have with unwanted and neglected animals. all they care about is money, i would say it is illegal that they are labelling themselves animal rescue and would tell trading standards and also inform the rspca.

The circumstances you describe seem to be what most people would describe as rescue as the animal was not sold but you made a donation. The animal was unsaleable and needed homing I cant see the problem.
