My family is looking to rescue a lab or chow (those are the traits we want in our dog) puppy from our local animal shelters, or even just a mix! As long as it’s not a small dog.
I’ve been looking all over New England using Petfinder.com and other sites, and I can’t find any. I went to some local shelters and they have no puppies either.
Also, I want to find high kill shelters around New England but they’re not listed.
And are there any shelters that ship their puppies if you want to adopt out of state? Many of these shelters won’t even let us adopt if we live too far. I know they want to find good homes for their animals, but we can give them a 14 year referral from our vet!
Oh, and the reason we need a puppy is because we already have another dog who we rescued when he was 1 and he was abused so now he has some emotional issues. So we want a puppy because our dog will adapt to him better if we get the new dog young (vet recommended it)

rearly u vinden puppies in schuilplaatsen redden als ze nog een noviteit aan mensen als ze jong zijn, zijn bij de nieuwheid vermindert dat u meestal vinden ze in schuilplaatsen. kan het zijn dat je op zoek naar een kweker met pups of als je echt wilden een hond te redden, kan het zijn dat je om een ouder een. mijn hond was 5 toen we hem van een rescue onderdak en ik vond het meer de moeite waard omdat zij minder kans om nieuwe woningen de oudere ze krijgen. goed te bekijken met het vinden van een pup.
New England heeft een zeer succesvolle Spay / onzijdig ordonnantie dat heeft geleid tot een aanzienlijke vermindering van het aantal dak-en thuislozen honden in de staat. Veel andere landen doen het vervoer heel adoptable honden naar New England, alsook andere landen. Call rond naar verschillende schuilplaatsen en vragen of zij ontvangen buiten de staat vervoert. Als zij dit doen, zet je naam op de lijst van de huizen op zoek naar een hond. Succes! Ik wens alle staten waren als succes-volle als een aantal van de Noord-Oost-staten als het gaat aan een gebrek aan honden in opvangtehuizen ..

I was talking to a woman who had exactly that problem, everytime she would look there were no puppies available. Maybe you can do some volunteer work at a shelter that has a lot of labs or chows that come thru…that way you will be able to see the puppies that are available and that are not immediately adopted out. Also check out your pets section on your local great local resource for people trying to give away puppies. good luck…wonderful to hear you’re trying to rescue…your perfect puppy will come soon.
I’m gonna get a lot of TDs for this, but here you go anyway: If you can’t adopt a puppy, why not buy one even if it is from an accidental litter in your area? I’m not talking a bonified BYB, just somebody who messed up, was too late spaying their pet, and learned their lesson?
