Hmm i would bring him to the vets and get his **** glands done. if you cant wait that long go to the pet shop and ask about charcoal treat sticks. i give them to my puppy shep and he did have a problem with his smelly farts so i gace him the sticks once a day and it has stopped since. so go and check them out.

Have him checked for worms.

Don't give him cheese, milk or any dairy products, the sugars in those cause gas.

No food with mackeral or fish in it, for the same reason.

This is common in puppies but also common in dogs with worms. If you have never had a fecal sample checked, start with that. As for a cure, well, there isn't much of a cure possible short of changing the diet and maybe adding on FortiFlora, a probiotic specifically for dogs. I am told this is also a big problem for some humans...

I do not know about a cure, but, when our dog had some major gas, our vet told us to put a few drops (depending on size: our dog was huge, so they told us about 8 drops for him) of liquid Beano on his food every day. It was a miracle.

dried food might be better than tinned. also when we got our dog we were told to feed her on the same stuff she had at the kennels at first and then gradually change to something else. The flatulence may also be nerves rather than diet. It may ease off once your dog gets more settled in your home. Good luck

Take him to the vet. His **** glands could need emptying, or any number of things. My dog started having these problems shortly after we rescued him. Come to find out that stress can bring on infections in the intestines.

Edit: Plain yogurt sure didn't help with my first dog's farts.
Third poster is wrong. A little yogurt doesn't hurt dogs. As for NO Human food, there are certain ones that are quite beneficial to dogs.
