Would you consider fostering a dog for a resuce?

Memphis Belle ~ Roll on Spring! asked:

Many Tears Dog Rescue, tries to foster out as many of its dogs as it can, to keep them in a home environment or to let them experience being in a home prior to adoption.

Would you foster a dog?

I would be there are several problems:

1- I live in an apartment building that has a dog limit

2- I’ve been turned down by many rescues because my student lifestyle isn’t stable enough

3- I wouldn’t be able to give them up!!

However, I do donate to a rescue once a month, so I try to help somewhat!

I’d love to but am in no position to do such a thing lifestyle and environment wise at this time unfortinetly. :(

If I had the room and resources to foster, I would love to, but as it is, we can’t.

Have I? Yes I have. I used to foster for North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue. I used to have 1 to 4 Rottweiler at my house at all times (not including my own) It’s a great feeling taking these dogs in showing them a little human companionship and to be able to watch them open up and trust people again. Then seeing that they get put in good loving homes. It’s a good thing to do. The only reason I stopped is because I moved up north.

yes, without a doubt. We just adopted a cat from the RSPCA, a little 5 year old called Desmond – his owners dumped him! After a few months, hes fully settled, always up to mischief. All animals deserve a second chance, because they can’t talk back like humans can anyway!
Our cat had terrible cat flu when we got him – they weren’t sure if he’d make it. Hes full of character now though!

I initially wanted a kitten but i’m glad we went with Desmond now, He means the world to me!

Oh yes and I do. I foster both tiny kittens and dogs. My family never know when they come home who will be in residence. It is a great challenge to see them blossom under love and attention and a square meal or two. The main deal here to allow u to survive is to make sure they all know that you are the boss.

I’m going to start fostering when I get a house (which will hopefully be in a couple of years). I already have 2 dogs (both from shelters), but we live in an apartment, and I’d rather have a backyard and be close to a dog park if I have a foster dog. I currently live 30 minutes from the dog park, so we go there every weekend.

I would love to…Joss is beautiful, I adopted from a foster network and my girl is awesome… I wish I had the room I would adopt them all!!! And my girl doesnt share that well!!

once I’m out of an apartment for good, I plan to.
for now I have just fostered kittens (and ended up adopting one :) ), unfortunately I have to live by the rules of the landlord for now (although I have temporarily snuck in a few rescues for short periods of time), but look forward to doing it in the future. I am very lucky that both of my own rescues are friendly to all

I HAVE considered fostering from there and my local Greyhound rehoming, sadly my partner says no, he isn’t into dogs like i am, i can’t argue at the moment because we have a young daughter and if anything went wrong he would blame me…………………………….BUT when she is older he will not have a choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
